Love Is Marriage Ministry

We are excited to share the vision God placed in Bishop Brown's and Elder Valerie's hearts to help make all of our marriages stronger, so we can walk in the fullness of what God has for us as husbands and wives!
One of the ways we'd like to connect and engage with our Mount Couples is through our LOVE IS Marriage Mondays! Each Monday we will provide couples with an opportunity to develop a deeper and more intimate relationship with God and with one another.

On the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month be on the lookout for an encouraging post or a marriage challenge on our social media

Love Is Prayer

by Dr. Stacie Otey-Scott
God, Your Word says, “Love is patient. Love is kind.” So we ask that You would remind us, even in moments of frustration and irritation to be mindful of the words that come from our mouths. Lord guide the meditations that reside in our hearts, so that we choose to demonstrate patience and kindness toward our spouses as You have instructed.

Your Word also says, “Love does not envy, it does not boast, nor is it proud.” So Father, remind us that we are not in competition with our spouse, but that You designed us to compliment each other. Lord keep us humble in our thoughts toward ourselves as we lift our spouses closer to You and celebrate the successes You allow us to achieve.

“Love does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered and it keeps no record of wrongs.” So God we ask that You align our wills as a couple, with Your will as our Creator. We pray that we represent You and the Kingdom well. Lord our deepest desire is to show the world through our love for one another how to honor, respect and forgive one another as husband and wife because according to Your word that’s what Love Is.

Finally, Lord, we thank You for Your everlasting, unconditional love that reminds us that You will never leave nor forsake us. We thank You for Your gift of forgiveness that allows us to forgive and be forgiven, and we ask that You remind us to operate from this place toward one another. Remind us to be quick to listen and slow to speak; quick to forgive and slow to anger; quick to love and slow to hate. In this way, we know that we will be drawn closer to You as we operate in the truth and spirit of what Your LOVE IS.

This is our prayer in the name of Jesus. Amen.
