
Bishop Kim W. Brown
Bishop Kim W. Brown is the Presiding Prelate of The Mount Global Fellowship of Churches, which has six campuses in Virginia (Chesapeake, Newport News, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Suffolk and Western Branch) and two campuses in North Carolina (Elizabeth City and Charlotte). As the Senior Site Pastor of the Chesapeake campus, he brings creative and innovative vision and takes an "out of the box" approach to ministry, which appeals to all cultures and age groups. Since his tenure with The Mount, which began in 1990,
he has watched the congregation grow from 75 to over 13,000 with evidence of continued growth.
Bishop Brown received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Norfolk State University. His academic preparation for the Gospel includes a Master of Divinity degree, received in 1991, and a Doctorate of Ministry degree, received in 1998, from Samuel D. Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. Bishop Brown has developed close relationships with highly respected community and political leaders, both locally and nationally. In 2004, he was appointed to the Chesapeake Regional Medical Center's Board of Authority and was named Chairman in 2008. As a result of his servant attitude, respect in the community and willingness to be used outside the four walls of the church in 2017. Bishop Brown was bestowed the high honor of being named Chesapeake's
First Citizen as well as a recipient of The Men for Hope Trailblazer Award. Bishop serves on the Board ofTrustees of Elizabeth City State University and was most recently appointed to Norfolk State University's Board of Visitors. Earlier this year, Bishop was also recognized as a Distinguished Alumni of NSU. He is the author of the best-selling book, Marriage Talk.
Bishop Brown has been married to Elder Valerie K. Brown since 1989 and God has
blessed them with two children, Pastor James "LJay" Brown and Dr. Kimberly
Williams, one daughter in-love, Dr. Keshia Brown, one son in-love, Linwood
Williams, Jr., two grandsons, James Emmanuel, Jaxon Emory and one
granddaughter, Kennedy Nicole.
Bishop and Elder Brown believe that God has called for them to work together in ministry. Their commitment to fruitful, life-changing and evolving ministry has enabled them to birth their own ministry, K.W. Brown International Ministries, Inc.
Bishop Brown is determined to fulfill the call God placed on his life through obedience to HIS commands. For Deuteronomy 11 :26 says, "Today, I am giving you the choice between a blessing and a curse! For you will be blessed if you obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today."
