Bishop Kim W. Brown is a distinguished leader and the Presiding Prelate of The Mount Global Fellowship of Churches, a thriving organization spanning six campuses in Virginia (Chesapeake, Newport News, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Suffolk, and Western Branch) and one in North Carolina (Elizabeth City). With over 33 years of dedicated service as the Senior Site Pastor of the Chesapeake campus, Bishop Brown has exhibited remarkable vision and an innovative approach to ministry, resonating with individuals of all cultural backgrounds and age groups. Since joining The Mount as Senior Pastor of the Chesapeake location in 1990, he has been instrumental in overseeing its growth from a congregation of 75 to over 15,000 members, setting a trajectory for continued expansion and spiritual enrichment.

Bishop Brown's academic journey includes earning a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Norfolk State University, followed by theological studies culminating in a Master of Divinity degree in 1991 and a Doctorate of Ministry degree in 1998 from the prestigious Samuel D. Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. Beyond his pastoral duties, Bishop Brown has cultivated meaningful relationships with influential community and political leaders, earning him appointments to esteemed positions such as a member of the Chesapeake Regional Medical Center's Board of Authority, a position he held from 2008 to 2021, and served as Chairman from 2009-2010 and 2019-2021. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, the Chesapeake Regional Medical Center Interfaith Chapel was dedicated in honor of Bishop and Elder Valerie Brown in 2023.

His exemplary leadership and commitment to service has earned Bishop Brown numerous accolades, including being named Chesapeake's First Citizen in 2017 and receiving the esteemed Men for Hope Trailblazer Award. He also serves on the Board of Visitors for Norfolk State University and is recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus. Additionally, Bishop Brown is an accomplished author, with best-selling titles such as "Marriage Talk," "Creating Pastures," and "Boiling Our Children" to his credit.

Bishop Brown's partnership with Elder Valerie K. Brown, whom he married in 1989, extends beyond their personal relationship to a shared commitment to impactful ministry and family values. Together, they are blessed with two children, Pastor James "LJay" Brown and Dr. Kimberly Williams, as well as cherished in-laws, Dr. Keshia Brown and Linwood Williams, Jr., and adored grandchildren James Emmanuel, Jaxon Emory, Kennedy Nicole, and Kaylyn Noelle. Their joint vision for transformative ministry has led to the establishment of K.W. Brown International Ministries, Inc., dedicated to fostering spiritual growth and empowerment.

Grounded in his unwavering obedience to divine calling, Bishop Brown remains steadfast in his mission, guided by the profound words of Deuteronomy 11:26: "Today, I am giving you the choice between a blessing and a curse! For you will be blessed if you obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today."

Elder Valerie K. Brown

Executive Pastor Emeritus
Dr. Valerie Kay Brown is affectionately known by partners of "The Mount" as Elder
Valerie. Now serving as the Executive Pastor, she was ordained an Elder of Administration and licensed to preach the gospel in 2002, and ordained as a
Minister of the Gospel in 2009.

Elder Valerie brings a wealth of academic and practical knowledge to the position in which she holds. Elder Val­erie's financial and administrative education and
professional training is an asset to Mount Lebanon and the body of Christ at large. Her academic preparation includes a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from
Virginia State Uni­versity and a Doctorate in Management degree from The Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University in
Cleveland, Ohio.

Elder Valerie K. Brown is committed in her mandate to stand beside her husband and assist him in all that God has planned for him in his ministerial journey. She
joyfully serves in this capacity. As a co-laborer in the gospel, she is gifted with the ability to teach God's word with a plain, simple, practical approach illustrated with every day life experiences which is easily understood by all.

Elder Valerie has authored three books: "The Mis-Education of the Christian: Your Guide to Financial Freedom" and 'What's in a Title: A New Leadership Paradigm': and her latest book that has everyone talking, "You Can't Do What" She is the proud mother of two children Pastor James "LJay" Brown and Dr. Kimberly Williams, daughter in-love Dr. Keshia Brown, son in-love, Linwood Williams, Jr., two grandsons, James Emmanuel and Jaxon Emory, and two
granddaughters, Kennedy Nicole and Kaylyn Noelle.

A heart to help those she is called to minister to through her God-given gifts, warm spirit, and infectious personality, Dr. Kimberly M. Brown Williams, or Dr. K as she is affectionately known, continuously works to make the world around her a better place. Kimberly credits receiving her foundation in community support and pouring into others to her parents who have displayed a strong sense of community and giving back. These pay-it-forward principles continue to hold key positions in Kimberly’s life as she lives by them daily.

A native of Chesapeake, Virginia, Dr. Kimberly serves as the Executive Pastor of The Mount Global Fellowship of Churches and Chief Financial Officer of Mt. Operations LLC. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science Degree and Master of Science Degree, both in Accounting, from North Carolina A&T State University and Michigan State University, respectively. After spending two years working in public accounting with Big Four Accounting Firm, Deloitte & Touche, LLP in Charlotte, North Carolina, Kimberly felt it appropriate to return home to join the staff at the church her father has been graced to lead, The Mount. In 2019, she completed the Doctorate of Strategic Leadership Program at Regent University and most recently earned her license as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Virginia.

Dr. Kimberly enjoys participating in the community work her church is involved in, being a part of Visionaries for Change, a philanthropic organization designed to support charitable causes in the black community, and serving as the Treasurer on the board of Envision, Lead, Grow, a nonprofit organization instilling entrepreneurial skills into young girl bosses with the hope to eradicate challenges plaguing an underserved population.

Dr. K also has a passion for teaching financial literacy skills as well as helping single women navigate what can be a lonely and challenging life season. In 2023, she created Solace, a community for single women that meets monthly for bible study and fosters a sisterhood founded on Christ, personal growth, accountability, comradery, and support. Continuing to develop self is an important and ongoing facet of Kimberly’s daily life as she believes you should never stop
learning and growing.

Dr. Kimberly is married to the love of her life, Linwood Williams, and in 2023 the two welcomed their first child, Kaylyn. When not working, Dr. K enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, planning events, or sharing serene moments with her husband on the lake. Kimberly is excited to see all that God will do through their union to help progress His Kingdom.
