Valerie K. Brown
Valerie Kay Brown was affectionately known by members of The Mount as Elder Valerie. Now Executive Pastor, she was first ordained Elder of Administration and also holds the traditional title of First Lady, as she is married to Senior Pastor K.W Brown.
Elder Valerie brings a wealth of academic and practical knowledge to the position in which she holds, Executive Pastor of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church.
Elder Valerie’s financial and administrative education and professional training is an asset to Mount Lebanon and the body of Christ at large. Her academic preparation includes, a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Virginia State University and Executive Management Doctorate degree from The Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Elder Valerie is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who has worked for several fortune 500 companies including Arthur Anderson and she has previously serviced many of the local doctor, lawyer, and small business as their personal accountant. She has also taught church administration and finance leadership at the Samuel D. Proctor School of Theology, Virginia Union University, Richmond, VA.
Elder Valerie K. Brown is committed in her mandate to stand beside her husband and assist him in all that God has planned for him in his ministerial journey. She joyfully serves in this capacity. As a co-laborer in the gospel, she is gifted with the ability to teach God’s word with a plain, simple, practical approach illustrated with every day life experiences which is easily understood by all.
Elder Valerie has authored two creation house publications: What’s in a Title: A New Leadership Paradigm and the newly published The Mis-Education of the Christian: Your Guide to Financial Freedom. She is also the author of additional publications entitled, I’m a Christian and I can’t do What and What does it really mean to be Saved?
She is the proud mother of two children: James and Kimberly.
Elder Valerie is a Proverbs 31 woman who possesses many gifts and talents. She is an asset to the body of Christ, specifically Mount Lebanon Baptist Church.
